What is R.A.D.?

R.A.D. (Recreation and Dreams for Kids with Cancer) is a unique support group for children with cancer and their families. Its purpose is to provide monthly recreational opportunities in our community for children who are being treated for, or are recovering from cancer. Of course, the child’s parents and/or brothers and sisters are always welcome to participate in our events.

How is R.A.D. funded?

R.A.D.’s activities are made possible by a group of dedicated volunteers from the community. The dedication, energy and generosity of these volunteers combine to make this organization a success. Caring Choices will work with the community to provide funding for these R.A.D. activities for free, which the children and their families so desperately need.

R.A.D.’s Group Philosophy

• To create an atmosphere that is fun, supportive and caring
• To facilitate communication and mutual concern between families
• To assist families in coping with cancer
• To assist with referrals to resources in the community
• To provide leadership by a registered nurse
• To provide services free of charge
